Project Title: Team B.E.E. (Being Energy Efficient) Project Adviser: Patti White

We are Team B.E.E., which stands for Being Energy Efficient. Our goal for this year is to educate the people in our community about conserving energy. We presented at Governor Herbert’s Public Forum, after reading Governor Herbert’s 10 Year Energy Initiative. We also presented at the new natural gas fueling station and at the Nexus Architectural Company. We educated ourselves by visiting solar and wind farms, Clive Nuclear Waste Facility, and Intermountain Power Plant. We have done nuclear and renewable energy debates, participated in a science fair with projects about energy, and hosted idle free campaigns at our school, other schools, and banks. We designed solar ovens to see how we can conserve energy and have been at two press conferences. We have made individual energy conserving projects, such as de-motivational posters, a video about a fictional character, Conservation Man, a video about water conservation, an energy efficient property trading game, an origami stop-motion video, a website, stories on improving the environment, a trivia game, a solar home, and many more and presented them to the second grade. We have strived to accomplish these goals and create a more sustainable environment for this generation and future generations to come.
